This booklet has six sections. The first is an introductory section dealing with the general subject of communication. The second section deals with writing any document as a whole. This section also addresses issues including the best format to use in certain situations, word choice, and document flow.
The third section deals with paragraphs, their structure and function. This section also addresses issues such as paragraph generalization and support, and transitions. The fourth section of this booklet deals with sentence structure, including how to construct a complete sentence, wordiness, and punctuation. This section also covers the use of the active/passive voice.
The fifth section deals with finding the most appropriate writing “tone”. Finally, the sixth section covers email construction, in particular as email has become the dominant channel by which we communicate. In fact, research suggests that over 80% of all business communication now occurs by email.
